Description

Our reproduction of The Three Graces, one of the greatest work of Antonio Canova, the talented Italian Neoclassical sculptor, is hand sculpted from natural solid white marble. It will add elegance and life to your houses, gardens, villas, buildings, hotels or resorts.

Antonio Canova’s statue The Three Graces is a Neoclassical sculpture, in marble, of the mythological three charites, daughters of Zeus – identified on some engravings of the statue as, from left to right, Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia – who were said to represent youth/beauty (Thalia), mirth (Euphrosyne), and elegance (Aglaea). The Graces presided over banquets and gatherings, to delight the guests of the gods. The original is displayed in the Louvre, Paris.
The three goddesses are shown nude, huddled together, their heads almost touching. They stand, leaning slightly inward – perhaps discussing a common issue, or simply enjoying their closeness. Their hair-styles are similar, braided and held atop their heads in a knot. The three slender female figures become one in their embrace, united by their linked hands and by a scarf which links them.

It is extremely important to us that each stone statue arrives whole and undamaged. We take utmost care in shipping and packing each item.

Our stone statues are packed in firm foam boxes for air shipment (small sizes, under 50kgs) and in strong seaworthy wooden crates (over 50kgs) for sea shipment to prevent damage during transportation.

For items of small sizes and under 50kgs (or 110 pounds), air shipment is the best in terms of time as well as economy.

For items of bigger sizes and over 50kgs (or 110 pounds), sea shipment is most recommended in term of cost. Port to port shipping costs are often much cheaper than trucking costs even within the same country.

If you are an international customer, please email info@danangsculpture.org, or call ++84-236-3968120, including the code number of the statue you are interested in purchasing and specific destination to receive a shipping quote.

Antonio Canova was an Italian Neoclassical sculptor, famous for his marble sculptures. Often regarded as the greatest of the Neoclassical artists, his artwork was inspired by the Baroque and the classical revival, but avoided the melodramatics of the former, and the cold artificiality of the latter. His work and personality became a model for all sculptors for many years.
