It is extremely important to us that each stone statue arrives whole and undamaged. We take utmost care in shipping and packing each item.

Our stone statues are packed in firm foam boxes for air shipment (small sizes, under 50kgs) and in strong seaworthy wooden crates (over 50kgs) for sea shipment to prevent damage during transportation.

For items of small sizes and under 50kgs (or 110 pounds), air shipment is the best in terms of time as well as economy.

For items of bigger sizes and over 50kgs (or 110 pounds), sea shipment is most recommended in term of cost. Port to port shipping costs are often much cheaper than trucking costs even within the same country.

If you are an international customer, please email info@danangsculpture.org, or call ++84-236-3968120, including the code number of the statue you are interested in purchasing and specific destination to receive a shipping quote.

The Eighteen Arhats (Lohans) are depicted in Mahayana Buddhism as the original followers of the Buddha who have followed the Eightfold Path and attained the Four Stages of Enlightenment. They have reached the state of Nirvana and are free of worldly cravings. They are charged to protect the Buddhist faith and to await on earth for the coming of Maitreya, a prophesied enlightened Buddha to arrive on earth many millennia after Gautama Buddha's death and nirvana.

The 18 Luohans are generally presented in the order they are said to have appeared to Guan Xiu, not according to their power: Deer Sitting, Happy, Raised Bowl, Raised Pagoda, Meditating, Oversea, Elephant Riding, Laughing Lion, Open Heart, Raised Hand, Thinking, Scratched Ear, Calico Bag, Plantain, Long Eyebrow, Doorman, Taming Dragon and Taming Tiger.

Nagasena, the Scratched Ear Lohan

Leisurely and contented,
Happy and knowledgeable.
Full of wit and humour,
Exuberant with interest.
His Sanskrit name is Nagasena, which means an army of dragons and symbolizes strong supernatural power.
Nagasena was an eloquent speaker and debater. He was famous all over India for his preachings on the "hear no evil" maxim. The senses of hearing is one of the six sources through which mankind become aware of the world. Therefore a practitioner of Buddhism should avoid listening to decadent sounds and in particular other people's secrets. Thus he is often portrayed as scratching his ear, a gesture symbolizing the purification of the sense of hearing in the search for peace and quiet.
